Wissal El Mahmoudi is a Franco-Moroccan law student currently on a gap year from Sciences Po’s Master in Economic Law. After a exchange in San Francisco, she discovered her passion for international law in all its forms, later deepened at The Hague Academy of International Law. She has taken part in international moot courts - the CPR International Mediation Competition in São Paulo and the Paris International Arbitration Competition - where she explored mediation and investment disputes, and where her interest in arbitration first took root. As a member of Paris Baby Arbitration, she has contributed to its “Biberon” law review. She is now discovering the world of international trade law through an internship in Brussels, specializing in EU and WTO law.

Committed to social justice, Wissal has long been engaged in advancing women’s rights and equal opportunities. She helped organize the student conference at Sciences Po “Voices of Change: A Student Conference on Women’s Political and Social Roles in the Middle East – Perspectives on Constitution-Making and Gender Participation”, and has worked with the NGO Zonta International and La Maison des Femmes de Paris. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood in the south of France, she also became involved from an early age with Article 1, an association dedicated to promoting equal opportunities and social mobility
